Web Wise Kids in partnership with the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), is working to establish and implement a coordinated, effective Internet safety effort that acknowledges the importance of active involvement from US Attorneys. Project Safe Childhood is an important initiative to keep our children safe from predators and other online dangers. We have been awarded a grant to implement this program in your area.
The purpose of the project will be to:
Increase public awareness about Internet safety issues;
Provide training and instruction to youth and adults about Internet safety;
To raise public awareness about the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative.
Web Wise Kids is inviting your district to participate in this FREE Win-Win program. Through the terms of this project, each school district will receive our complete set of award-winning, specially-designed multimedia educational computer programs. Each school district that participates in the program will be asked to enlist 3-5 Media Specialists/School Librarians/Technology Specialists to serve as facilitators to bring Web Wise Kids programs directly to students at the middle and high school levels. We will also make available our digital parent education program to parent groups associated with participating schools. The project includes complete training, resources, and ongoing support to ensure that the program is implemented effectively.
